The time for approval of a licence will mainly depend on the kind of licence which is applied for. However, the following three principles apply to any licence application:

  1. Your choice of licence consultant – Use a Professional who is known to pursue the application from start to to final approval. Choose a motivated consultant who reports regularly and who demands performance from role players (licensing boards);
  2. The quality of the application - . A poorly drafted application = delay in approval = loss of profit. Only 1 out of 5 applications, on average, are approved without any delay. Appoint a consultant who is known for quality applications - not one template for all applications.
  3. How often a licensing board meets - The more often a Licensing Body meets, the sooner applications are approved. This is different for each municipality, province and national department. In some licensing boards meet once every month and others 5 times a week.

The criteria is different for each kind of licence, but there are a few general guidelines ;

Age limit (eg. 16 / 18 / 21 yrs)
